Countries not named in this description report no data. In North America, Canada consumes between 4 and 6 percent of world nuclear energy; the United States consumes 32 percent; and Mexico consumes less than 1 percent. In South America, Brazil consumes between 1 and 3 percent, and Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, and Argentina consume less than 1 percent. In Europe, Russia and France consume between 7 and 31 percent; United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Sweden, and Finland, between 4 and 6 percent; and Ireland, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, Romania, and Greece, less than 1 percent. In Africa, Algeria and Egypt consume less than 1 percent, whereas South Africa consumes between 1 and 3 percent. In Southwest, Central, and South Asia, India consumes between 1 and 3 percent, and Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh less than 1 percent. In Southeast Asia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Philippines consume less than 1 percent. In East Asia, China consumes between 7 and 31 percent; South Korea, between 4 and 6 percent; and Japan and Taiwan, between 1 and 3 percent. In Oceania, Australia and New Zealand both consume less than 1 percent.
