Regions with significant water usage, ranging from 500,000 to 5,000,000 gallons, are shown in medium blue and are primarily located in the western United States, including states like California, Nevada, and Arizona; Nye, Elko, Lincoln, Idaho, Chaves, Custor, Okanogon, Lassen, and Imperial. Counties with moderate water use, between 50,000 to 500,000 gallons, are depicted in lighter blue and are scattered throughout the Midwest and Eastern states: North-Slope Borough, Southeast Fairbank, Lake and Peninsula Borough, Northwest Arctic Borough, Mohave, San-Bernardino, St. Louis, Greene, and Elbert.
