The map highlights various forest types in Southeast Asia using different colors. Rain forests are shown in sky blue, covering regions of Indonesia, much of Malaysia, the western regions of Papua New Guinea, and some northern regions of Myanmar. Swamp forests are shaded in yellow and are present in parts of Indonesia, the southern regions of Malaysia, and the western regions of Papua New Guinea. Monsoon forests are shaded in purple, seen in areas of northern Myanmar and the central regions of Cambodia. Secondary forests are shaded in red and are found in regions of Vietnam and some areas in the east of Myanmar. Mangrove forests are shaded in blue and are located along the coastal areas of Southeast Asia. Additionally, regions that are not forested but used for other purposes are spread across Southeast Asia, mostly in the regions of Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangkok, southern Cambodia, the Philippines, Singapore, Jakarta in Indonesia, and Cebu.
