Counties with moderate water use, between 50,000 to 500,000 gallons, are depicted in lighter blue and are scattered throughout the Midwest and Eastern states: North-Slope Borough, Southeast Fairbank, Lake and Peninsula Borough, Northwest Arctic Borough, Mohave, San-Bernardino, St. Louis, Greene, and Elbert. The lightest blue areas, indicating less than 50,000 gallons per year per person, are found in various regions: Alaska (Yukon-Koyukuk Census, Nome Census, Dillingham Census), King, Cass, Polk, Piscataquis, Santa Rose, Marion, Perry, and Broome. Some areas are marked with a grey pattern, indicating no data available for those regions.
